This page provides answers to common questions about our ceramic tableware, how to care for it, and what to expect when ordering from us. If you have a question that is not covered here, please feel free to reach out.
Product Information
What type of clay do you use?
We use natural clay that is suitable for food contact. The clay is processed to ensure consistency while retaining the natural qualities that make ceramic products durable and functional. We do not use synthetic substitutes in our primary materials.
Are your products food-safe?
Yes. All our ceramic tableware is made with glazes and materials that are safe for food contact. We use lead-free glazes and follow standard practices to ensure that finished pieces do not leach harmful substances. If a particular item is not intended for food use, we state that clearly in the product description.
Are the pieces dishwasher-safe?
Most of our ceramic tableware is dishwasher-safe. However, to extend the life of your pieces, we recommend using the gentle cycle if your dishwasher has that option. Hand washing is always a safe choice, especially for pieces with textured surfaces or hand-painted details.
Are the pieces microwave-safe?
Yes, the majority of our ceramic items can be used in a standard microwave. We recommend avoiding sudden temperature changes, such as moving a piece directly from the refrigerator into a microwave, as this can cause thermal shock and cracking. If an item is not microwave-safe, this information is included in the product listing.
Why do my pieces have slight variations?
Ceramics are made by hand or through processes that involve human involvement at multiple stages. Variations in glaze thickness, color tone, and form are natural characteristics of ceramic products. These variations are not considered defects. They are part of what makes each piece unique. We do not produce machine-perfect uniformity, and we believe these subtle differences add to the character of our tableware.
Can I use your products in the oven?
Our standard tableware is not designed for oven use unless specifically stated in the product description. Repeated exposure to high baking temperatures may cause cracking or glazing issues. Please check individual product details for any oven-safe designations.
Care and Maintenance
How should I clean my ceramic tableware?
For everyday cleaning, hand washing with mild dish soap and a soft sponge is sufficient. Avoid using abrasive pads or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can scratch the glaze over time. If using a dishwasher, place pieces securely so they do not knock against each other during the cycle.
How can I prevent staining?
Certain foods, such as those with strong pigments like tomato sauce or coffee, may leave light stains on ceramic surfaces over time. To minimize staining, rinse pieces promptly after use rather than allowing them to sit for extended periods. A paste made from baking soda and water can help remove minor surface stains without damaging the glaze.
What should I do if a piece cracks or chips?
Ceramics are durable but can be vulnerable to impact. If a piece becomes cracked or chipped, we recommend discontinuing use for food purposes, as small cracks can harbor bacteria. Some customers choose to repurpose damaged pieces for non-food uses such as planters or small storage containers.
Ordering and Customization
Do you accept custom orders?
We do not currently offer custom or personalized ceramic pieces. Our tableware is produced in small batches with consistent forms and glazes. If this changes in the future, we will update our website accordingly.
Can I request a specific glaze or color variation?
Because our pieces are made in batches, the glazes and finishes available are those shown in the product listings. We do not fulfill requests for specific color variations beyond what is offered, as the nature of ceramic glazes makes exact color matching difficult to guarantee.
Do you sell sets or only individual pieces?
We offer both individual pieces and curated sets. When sets are available, they are listed separately from individual items. If you do not see a set that matches your needs, you are welcome to purchase individual pieces to create your own combination.
Stock and Availability
What happens if an item is out of stock?
Our tableware is produced in small quantities, and some items may sell out between production cycles. If an item is out of stock, you may sign up for notifications through the product page to be informed when it becomes available again. We do not offer backorders for out-of-stock items.
Do you restock all items regularly?
We rotate our production schedule based on materials availability and workshop capacity. Not every item is restocked on a fixed schedule. Some pieces may be discontinued if materials or production constraints change. If you are interested in a specific item, we recommend ordering when it is available.
Packaging and Shipping
How are ceramic items packaged?
We take care to pack ceramic pieces securely. Each item is wrapped with protective materials and placed in boxes designed to minimize movement during transit. While we cannot guarantee against damage from extreme handling, we use packaging methods that we have found to be reliable over time.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged?
If any item arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photographs showing the damage to both the item and the packaging. We will assess the situation and arrange for a replacement or refund as appropriate.
Do you ship to locations outside your standard area?
Our shipping options are listed at checkout based on the address provided. If your location is not available for selection, we are not currently able to ship to that address. We do not offer manual adjustments to shipping destinations.
